The Evolution and Impact of AI
Since the debut of ChatGPT in 2022, AI technology has significantly improved in performance and affordability, becoming a widely adopted tool by 2024. AI is now fundamentally changing the way we work and live. The ability to generate translations, conduct research, and even create images and videos has led to an era where collaborating with AI in creative and production processes is no longer optional but essential.

Changes in the Design and Video Industry
AI has drastically reduced the time required for initial concept creation, making the direction-setting process faster and more efficient. Moreover, AI assists in ideation, enabling the rapid development and refinement of ideas, leading to more streamlined workflows. In advertising and marketing, AI analyzes data to identify optimal target audiences, making marketing efforts more precise and effective.
Although AI-generated videos still face challenges, such as maintaining high resolution, producing seamless long-form content, ensuring natural movement, and maintaining consistent tones, these limitations are expected to be resolved sooner than anticipated.
However, AI cannot replace everything. It is still up to humans to set directions, filter necessary and unnecessary information, and determine which outcomes are superior. While AI excels at analyzing vast amounts of data and identifying patterns, it still struggles to fully grasp context and make emotional or intuitive decisions. Ultimately, AI is a powerful tool, but the ability to use it effectively is becoming increasingly critical.

The Role of Humans in the AI Era
To thrive in this era, we must establish new workflows that incorporate AI and develop the skills to utilize AI efficiently. However, that alone is not enough. Even in the AI age, humans must cultivate deeper insight and creativity.
Exceptional design sensibility is honed through hands-on experience—drawing, designing, and refining. Similarly, the ability to discern quality writing comes from extensive reading and writing. The key is no longer just about creating something but rather about evaluating and selecting at a higher level.
Additionally, the ability to ask the right questions is essential for leveraging AI effectively. Since AI generates responses based on input, the quality of the output depends heavily on how well the question is framed. Clear, specific, and well-structured questions lead to more accurate and useful answers. Those who can effectively engage with AI will not just seek information but will ask insightful questions, analyze AI-generated responses, and make informed decisions.
In the past, people gradually acquired expertise through years of experience. Today, however, individuals must become highly perceptive experts without a lengthy apprenticeship. For instance, while AI can translate text, assessing whether the translation accurately reflects the intended meaning requires strong linguistic intuition. Likewise, AI can generate design suggestions, but recognizing the most appropriate design demands experience and learning. Beyond simple execution, those with deep insight and exceptional judgment are becoming increasingly valuable.

Becoming an Insightful Human
In the AI era, it is not enough to simply learn AI technologies quickly. We must strive to become insightful individuals. This calls for a renewed focus on fundamental human skills—literature, writing, artistic expression, and creative thinking. Could this be the time to prioritize these foundational abilities? Ultimately, AI is just a tool; how we use it and what results we produce remain entirely in our hands. Those who will lead the future will not just be AI users but individuals who can differentiate themselves through creative thinking and unique perspectives. The message from the renowned business book Good to Great is now applicable not just to companies but to individuals. In the AI era, it is not enough to be a “good” human; only great individuals will survive and thrive. Now, more than ever, we need the power of thought.
