SUNGWON PARK(TESSERACT)’s patterns are both unfamiliar and uniquely original. While embracing the characteristics of generative art, they are not random but instead contain a refined sense of order. Drawing inspiration from nature and mathematical formulas, he creates organic yet logical forms, establishing a distinct visual language. By utilizing fractal geometry, he employs mathematical algorithms to construct intricate patterns and forms in three-dimensional space, transforming the mysterious and intricate structures of the universe into art. Additionally, through the visualization of invisible structures and principles, he reveals patterns and orders that often go unnoticed.
His works feature unfamiliar visual imagery and fluid movements, as if capturing the hidden laws embedded within the universe. Through this, we are led beyond the familiar, discovering a new way of perceiving the world. His art continuously explores the boundary between order and chaos, offering audiences a new dimension of visual experience. Now, delve deeper into his creative process and artistic world through this exclusive interview.

Q6. Can you introduce one of your works featured on LED.ART?
A : Regarding Mandelbulb B, while it does not exist in nature, it is a mathematical interpretation of natural laws processed by a computer. I then apply lighting and various creative elements to transform it into a new visual expression.
Q7. When do you usually work?
A : I mostly work during the day and in the evening.
Q8. Can you briefly describe your workspace?
A : I am currently working at Aube Place in Hongdae, a shared space where freelancers gather and work together.
TESSERACT describes artistic creation as the act of exploring elements that captivate him and expressing his individuality, separate from his commercial work. Rather than adhering to a fixed concept or structure, he intuitively selects elements that spark his interest, expanding his unique artistic language. He enjoys moments when his work is interpreted differently than he originally intended. Instead of resisting these unexpected perspectives, he embraces them, allowing himself to see his work in a new light. Through this ongoing dialogue, he discovers new possibilities. Art is not a one-way expression—it is a conversation that constantly evolves. How his work connects with audiences and what kind of inspiration it sparks remains an exciting mystery. We look forward to the new visual explorations TESSERACT will unveil next. Stay tuned.
