PUBLICART CURATION in TOKYO : SUMMER

ART CURATION in TOKYO 'SUMMER'

LED.ART brings freshly curated media art to four large-scale platforms across Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Harajuku—YUNIKA Vision, Cross Vision, Pandora Visions, and SHIBUHARA Vision. Works are broadcast throughout the day, every hour, weaving an artistic sensibility into the ordinary rhythm of the city and sustaining the point where Tokyo and media art meet.
This season featured NEO NATURE : UNDERWATER by Horyong Jeong. Solid blocks of sediment ripple open like waves, revealing a seascape that has long lain dormant within them. Life rises through those layered walls of time and spreads outward like water, filling the air of the street; a whale drifts across all four screens as a single continuous scene, moving at a scale the city itself cannot contain. Set against the pop rhythms and advertising that usually fill these screens, the stillness and gravity of the work invite passersby to quietly witness the moment life awakens once more to a rhythm of its own.
