The Sea the Wall series carries multiple meanings, interpreted as 'the wall of the sea' and 'to see the wall.' The sea has been a space for human survival through hunting and gathering, but over time, the desire for trade and exploration emerged. However, this yearning is obstructed by the sea itself, a massive barrier. Humanity has challenged this barrier to gain prosperity but has also faced disasters such as environmental destruction and climate anomalies. The sea symbolizes both the beauty of nature and the potential disasters that threaten humanity. For me, the sea is a space of both fear and comfort; it is where I nearly drowned, yet it also offers solace when observed from a distance. The figures in the artwork represent both myself and us as a collective, confronting the sea to overcome fear and find stability. I hope the audience can recall their own memories of the sea. Today, scientists are warning about global warming and climate change, and we are realizing our powerlessness in the face of nature's forces. What can we do today?
