The SPACE ODDITY series began when I was seven years old, watching a Star Wars movie with my father. I was deeply impressed by the protagonist's actions in space and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. Although that childhood dream faded, I have preserved the memory through SF films and documentaries. The life of an astronaut has a duality, much like David Bowie's song. Behind the glamorous images lie physical pain and the fear of the vastness of space. Many astronauts sacrificed their lives during the space race of the Cold War, allowing humanity to take a step closer to the cosmos. The SPACE ODDITY series is a tribute to those astronauts who made my past dreams a reality, and their journey will continue. Today, private companies are also dreaming of leaps into space, and in this process, astronauts will endure hardships to bring humanity closer to the beautiful universe. Charlie Chaplin's quote, "Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot," resonates with the lives of astronauts as well.
