ELEMENTS explores the moment when familiar subjects acquire a new sensory order. While our perception of nature is shaped by accumulated memories of form and movement, this work separates those familiar concepts and brings them together again in new configurations. As one subject takes on the movement of another phenomenon, the boundaries of the image shift into a more fluid and abstract state. Familiar forms from nature are expanded into countless particles—falling, gathering, and generating new movements where individual identity and the overarching motion are perceived simultaneously. When familiar forms encounter unexpected rhythms, our established perceptions begin to loosen, revealing latent images within them. Through this ongoing renewal of relationships, ELEMENTS invites us to encounter the possibility of sensations and landscapes that have yet to be named.
