This piece is drawn from my project Blue Mountains, the fifth work in the Shanshui series. Through layered blues and slow animation, the project gives form to deeply buried sorrow, turning it into a landscape I can approach and inhabit. In this vertical fragment, deep blue mountains rise from a softly rippling surface. Pink edges trace the folds of the peaks as they grow taller and gather together. A moon slowly emerges behind them against a blue-violet sky, framing the upper ridges while the lower slopes remain in shadow.
