Shifting Cubes is a generative animation that depicts a series of oblique cubes shifting horizontally—expanding and contracting in a rhythmic flow. Each form holds a slightly different directional tension, creating a visual dissonance that energizes the composition. The vibrant color palette enhances the illusion of volume, yet the repeated patterns occasionally flatten into layered parallelograms, blurring the boundary between depth and surface. As the cubes move side to side, the work plays with perception—inviting the viewer to oscillate between reading the image as solid and as an abstract pattern.
