Z is a digital artwork accompanied by an original score, in which the core visual motif is introduced almost immediately and then undergoes a series of subtle but continuous variations. The imagery is built from alternating bands of deep red and luminous white, whose shifting interplay creates a sense of pulse and vibration across the frame. Rather than pursuing dramatic transformation, the work explores modulation—changes of pace, rhythm, and texture that keep the surface alive while retaining its essential structure. The effect is hypnotic, as the eye oscillates between zones of intensity and calm, density and openness. The music reinforces this perception, offering a sonic parallel to the visual patterning, with shifts of tempo and timbre that mirror the flow of the image.
