This piece was created early in 2025. It comes from a place of longing for my friends who have left the country to follow their own paths. When I say lover, I don’t necessarily mean it in a romantic way; it’s more about a deeper connection I have with them, one that doesn’t quite fit neatly into a category anymore. To me, my friends feel like distant stars, still shining, still there, but far away. And when they return, they bring new perspectives on the world, which I find so refreshing. This artwork is my way of holding onto that mix of distance, love, and transformation.
