From above, Iceland’s river systems unfold as fluid networks shaped by sediment and motion. Glacial meltwater carries fine particles across the landscape, creating soft transitions between pale, silt-laden currents and darker underlying surfaces. As the rivers approach the coast, sediments disperse into a broader tonal range. Light interacts with suspended particles, revealing layered textures and muted gradients. The landscape remains in flux, defined by a balance between deposition and erosion, where structure emerges only to dissolve again.
